Dr Ghafoor is the Clinical Lead for Heywood and Middleton and represents Heywood and Middleton GPs on the Governing Body. His role involves liaising with Rochdale practices to ensure they are engaged and up-to-date, as well as overseeing improvement in the quality and provision of clinical care for the borough. Dr Ghafoor is NHS HMR CCG’s clinical strategic lead for Mental Health and Safeguarding and a member of Quality and Safeguarding Committee and Primary Care Commissioning Committee. Dr Ghafoor is a practicing GP in Middleton.

Imran qualified as a GP in 2014 after completing his GP training in the Pennine Vocational Training Scheme. Prior to this he worked at different hospitals in Greater Manchester following completion of his medical degree at Newcastle university.

After completing his training, he stayed on at the surgery and was made a partner. Being passionate about patient care, he started quite early in his career by completing a Masters in Service improvement and healthcare leadership, to achieve this aim. He started to work with the CCG in April 2018.

In his free time Imran enjoys travelling, learning new languages, good food and spending time with his family and friends. He has worked as a Crowd Doctor at the AJ Bell Stadium.
