Dr Aggy York is the Clinical Lead for Rochdale and represents Rochdale GPs on the Governing Body. Her role involves liaising with Rochdale practices to ensure they are engaged and up-to-date, as well as overseeing improvement in the quality and provision of clinical care for the borough. Dr York is also NHS HMR CCG’s clinical lead for primary care and Chair of the Clinical and Professional Advisory Panel (CPAP) and is a member of Primary Care Commissioning Committee, Quality and Safeguarding Committee and attends the Integrated Commissioning Board.  Dr York is a practicing GP in Littleborough.

Aggy originally from Leicestershire, graduated from Manchester Medical School in 2003. Having set her sights on becoming a GP, Aggy completed her Junior House Officer posts at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan and Fairfield General Hospital in Bury going on to complete GP Training in Wigan, Wrightington and Leigh.  She developed a passion for dermatology and went on to study for a Post Graduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology via Cardiff University, later becoming an Honorary Tutor on the course.

Aggy settled as a GP in Littleborough in 2007. Having moved her family to the local area, she was keen to get involved in projects to improve patient care and local services and would sit on committees at the PCT and later the CCG, becoming Clinical Lead for Primary Care in 2017.

Outside of work Aggy is a keen sportswoman. She enjoys skiing, cross training and running and helped to set up a local running club at Littleborough Amateur Boxing Club where she volunteers as an Amateur Boxing Association Medic. Aggy also volunteers as club doctor and mini sector team manager at Littleborough RUFC spending many a muddy Sunday cheering on her 2 children before jumping on pitch herself with the senior ladies team The Pink Warriors.
